Non Reciprocal and Reciprocal Links – Do We Need Them?

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Actually, the answer is yes……..and no. What is a reciprocal link? It is a link to a page that is linked back to ours. Of course, a non reciprocal link is a link from a page that we are not directly linked to.

Page rank is associated in some ways to linking. You see, the more links that point to our pages, the more important Google tm or other search engines think our page is. Non reciprocal links to our page (not on our page) add a lot more weight than reciprocal links. Search engines think that if a page is willing to link to ours and not get a link back, then our page must be important. They see it as a recommendation. But that’s not always true. The importance of the pages that link to ours is also accounted for. You can get 100 free hosting pages of your own and then link them to your special page with non reciprocal links and you wouldn’t get any change in rank; it is a “Zero * Zero = Zero” equation.

You have to get links from pages that rank well.
Then comes the other side of the question. Can I have any page link mine? And the answer is NO.
Search engines think of the web as a neighborhood. If you are linked to a good neighborhood then you must be good. If you are linked to a bad “hood” then you must be bad and they rank you.

So linking to pages with illegal content such as MP3’s, Warez, Hackers, etc. will soon get you a bad ranking. And probably your submission to the directories will not be accepted.

The other point of linking is ANCHOR TEXT.
Anchor text is the text of the hyperlink. Read this two examples:

Example 1

http://www.elmejorguia.com/Index_english.htm

Example 2
Free tools for webmasters

You inmediately see the difference. Although both links can point to the same page the way they are phrased is different. Not only does this make a difference in the way people read the link or the way the link gets their attention, but also when search engines “see” the link, they associate this words with your site and you climb ranks in those Keywords for any associated searchs.

Now you get the point?

Your links should have good anchor text that is related to the keywords that you want to exploit.

But search engines also see KEYWORD SPAM when they find too many links with the same phrasing beacuse it doesn’t seem natural They think that it is impossible that all webmasters would write the same words when linking your page. That means that you have to use slightly different phrases each time you get links to your page.

Last but not least, search engines do not see words inside pictures so image links and banners do not get you any ranking for any keyword.

Don’t Be Afraid of Your Topic

    Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Have you ever thought why another college term paper causes your distress? You just saw its confusing title and it seems to make no sense to you. Or you can’t decide what topic to choose from a countless number of options spinning in your mind. Yes, I will agree with you that sometimes the choice and misunderstanding of the topic are the main hindrances in producing a good writing. But we should overcome this barrier. We will see how to get the meaning of the assigned topic and to choose a winning topic. Your paper suggests a complete exposure of the topic. Sometimes you need just to understand it and that is all.

Try reading the topic several times and find key word in it, that is the nucleus of your topic. Relate the key word to a specific academic discipline. As you see, careful thinking over the topic helps you to understand that it is not that difficult. Before the main stage of the writing process you should memorize the title of your topic. While working on your paper repeat it constantly and that way you will not get off the point. In many cases teachers give you an opportunity to select the topic on your own. It is difficult to say what is better: to work on the assigned topic or to hesitate which to choose? It depends. We are sure you will determine which variant suits you best. Our aim is to provide you with information that will facilitate your writing procedure.

As you are choosing the topic take into consideration the following ideas:

    1) You will never produce a good paper if you don’t feel enthusiastic about the topic. Your choice should be based on the area of your personal interests, preferences and the subjects that appeal to you.

    2) Don’t choose the complicated topic. You will waste a lot of precious time in search of necessary information and even more time to make some sense of it. Besides there is a risk of finding nothing and then all you have to is to order custom term paper (www.bestessays.com/customtermpaper.php).

    3) Narrow your topic. It is impossible to cover a general topic in your paper. Extract more specific and particular issue from a general topic. That way you will have an opportunity to give a deeper and more detailed discussion of the question.

    4) Your topic should give opportunities for doing your independent research, in which you will demonstrate your skills and abilities to collect, assemble, generalize and analyze facts and documents. We want to wish you inspiration, concentration and not so much perspiration with your college term paper (www.bestessays.com/college_term_paper.php). Remember, when you make a choice it must be the best!

Did God Create Man Or Did Man Create God? Part 2

    Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Have you ever wondered why religion developed in the Middle East? Did you ever even think why could it not have happened somewhere else? That’s because due to weather patterns of the earth, the weather decides the fate of ones country, land, and beliefs. This is the Inclination Point Theory. It is supposed that 1,500 years ago China had a great abundance of food due to the weather it was experiencing, it is the same weather the United States is experiencing today, we have phenomenal irrigation and so much food that we just give it away constantly. China built the Great Wall in order to block out the Mongolians and Huns in order to stop invading and searching for food in China. Why is it that in history classes today we discuss as China falling back in advancement when Europe and the Middle East caught up, while China was still in it’s isolated era?

China’s isolated area was not the direct cause of it’s slowed advancement. What difference does it make that it’s isolated or not, the main point is that China had food production and people were happy thus giving many things in society advancements, especially in agriculture. Also at this time, the first book ever was written, “The Epic of Gilgamesh,” this book was derived from that area of China’s location, and not in the middle east, nor Europe and not the America’s. As time went on the weather patterns began to shift to the Middle East, and so the Middle East supposedly continued the advancement that China had slowed. Religion was formed, the Bible was derived from parts of “The Epic of Gilgamesh,” and monotheism (belief in one God) was born. Then as we all know and can relate to, the Renaissance flourished the streets of Europe and most importantly Europe founded the Industrial Revolution which changed the world forever. Today in modern day the weather patterns favor the United States, we have advanced far more than any other nation in this time period, even during the Cold War, if now during any war, we need not to save food or be afraid the supply is going to run out, we have enough to probably feed almost the whole world, or at least Russia.

Also our GDP (Gross Domestic Product) is higher than any other nation in the world all due to food production. In other simple and shorter words, a nations great wealth and advancement is based on it’s food production, and that’s based on the earth’s weather patterns therefore, the earth itself controls revolutions, crusades, and all together history. So where does the disapproval of God play a role in this explanation? If religion was derived in the Middle East and now is upon the whole world, what would the difference be if it was derived in the United Kingdom and today America wouldn’t be as powerful, because the weather patterns would be on either Hawaii or Japan. Now you have to rethink the whole history of the world, if it was Japan to be the most powerful, how much greater would they have attacked Pearl Harbor?

God upon all of this is just an advancement, another invention from people’s minds and cultures, you may say God is a part of people’s cultures. But if seen from a bigger perspective, God is part of the world no matter where derived from, but it is his development in the world which is the same as the development of any other invention a human has invented. In other simpler words, it was inevitable that God would be created upon any civilization and therefore a part of civilization just like any other invention, therefore he does not exist. He may not exist and may be erased from history just as the same as erasing the industrial revolution from happening or the Bible being written. And God and religion was derived before highly advanced inventions of society because religion was and is still the fundamental building block of cultures due to questions that the early man and woman could not have answered.

But since history is remembered whether through oral tradition or documented evidence, it cannot be erased just as today, God is unerasable. But most of the questions that “God” has answered in religious books have now been answered by science. So what’s to stop human kind from just one more weather current to change the world forever and possibly erase America’s power, wealth and dominance? What’s there to stop human kind from erasing God from their history due to even more advancements in the next thousands of years and finally being able to answer the greatest of all mans questions, “did God create man, or did man create God?” God was created by man, but it is hard for an individual to erase history of his or her God and accept the truth that is inevitable.

Born in Belarus, Minsk 1988, came to America with huge aspirations, and fullfilling them by participating in a Microsoft competition, and soon attending Polytechnic University for Business & Technology in New York City. I spend my time with my friends and research technology constantly. I always question things before i believe them blindly and make sure that in whatever it is i do, there is truth in it, or at least money!

Deep Structure: Screenplays, Stories and Film

    Sunday, March 29th, 2009

The Hero’s Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters.

    The Hero’s Journey:

    • Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.

    • Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.

    • Interpreted metaphorically, laterally and symbolically, allows an infinite number of varied stories to be created.

The Hero’s Journey is also a study of repeating patterns in successful stories and screenplays. It is compelling that screenwriters have a higher probability of producing quality work when they mirror the recurring patterns found in successful screenplays.

    Consider this:

    • Titanic (1997) grossed over $600,000,000 – uses the Hero’s Journey as a template.

    • Star Wars (1977) grossed over $460,000,000 – uses the Hero’s Journey as a template.

    • Shrek 2 (2004) grossed over $436,000,000 – uses the Hero’s Journey as a template.

    • ET (1982) grossed over $434,000,000 – uses the Hero’s Journey as a template.

    • Spiderman (2002) grossed over $432,000,000 – uses the Hero’s Journey as a template.

    • Out of Africa (1985), Terms of Endearment (1983), Dances with Wolves (1990), Gladiator (2000) – All Academy Award Winners Best Film are based on the Hero’s Journey.

    • Anti-hero stories (Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990) etc) are all based on the Hero’s Journey.

    • Heroine’s Journey stories (Million Dollar Baby (2004), Out of Africa (1980) etc) are all based on the Hero’s Journey.

    Deep Structure

The standard Hero’s Journey boasts 17 stages but deep analytics reveal many more stages and recurring themes and patterns. Below is a small example; a basic deconstruction of Silence of the Lambs (Academy Award Best Film, 1991).

    Refusal [Lecter refuses to help].

Overcoming Refusal [Lecter's cell mate is rude and causes Lecter to help Clarice by way of apology]. Lecter sends Clarice to the First Threshold [the garage].

Physical Separation / Belly of the Whale [Lecter says he'll help Clarice catch Buffalo Bill].

Antagonism developed [Buffalo Bill kidnaps senator's daughter].

Transformation / Road of Trials x 3 [Clarice controls the police officers; analyses the dead body in Clay County ; learns about the cocoon].

Resistance to the Meeting with the Oracle [Dr Chiltern obstructs Clarice from seeing Lecter before he is moved].

Journey to the Sword [Lecter journeys to meet the Senator].

Seizing the Sword [Clarice gets the info she needs, which Lecter has written in the case files; Clarice learns the significance of Silence of the Lambs].

Rebirth through Death [Lecter escapes and kills].

Reward [Clarice knows Lecter will not come after her].

Atonement with the Father [Clarice learns that Buffalo Bill can only covet what he sees].

Apotheosis [he's making a skin suit].

Ultimate Boon [Crawford has (allegedly) found Buffalo Bill].

Refusal [Crawford tells Clarice not to come to Chicago but go to Belvedere instead].

Magic Flight [Senator's daughter attempts to escape].

Rescue from Without {Clarice directed toward Mrs Lipman].

Crossing the Return Threshold [Clarice enters buffalo Bills House].

Capture Your Perfect Moment with a Wedding Website

    Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Not so many years ago, the proposition of a wedding website would be a thing of humor. For decades, wedding invitations created from custom stationary and mailed via snail mail has been the standard way of inviting guests to your ceremony and reception. However, with the advent of Internet, more and more people are moving with the growing trend of creating a personal wedding website. Some might think that a wedding website is an ‘extra’ feature to add to your planning, but you will soon see why it is almost a requirement with regard to an “all inclusive” wedding plan.

The biggest advantage to setting up a personal website is that one can display information for your guests and others to view well in advance of the actual event. With typical weddings, many guests come out of town and getting informational changes to them in a timely manner is crucial. Any and all changes to the actual format of the wedding can quickly be published on a website for all the expected quests to review. A direction map for guests that are unfamiliar with your area is also an added and appreciated feature. Setting up a website in advance of the wedding allows the guests to feel connected to the bride and groom, and allows them to feel like they are part of the planning. Also, the bride or groom can point out hotel accommodations and unique tourist features for out-of-town visitors to take advantage of when they are visiting. The possibilities of a complete website are virtually endless.

There are a few options if one decides to embark on having a wedding website. You can hire a web designer to create a custom design for you and your fiancé, complete with your choice of colors, styles and content. This person will usually supply a complete package along with the needed hosting for the website. Another option is going with an online website template, usually through a wedding website provider. These templates are pre-made, usually very easy and fast to set up, and only usually require that one fills out some forms online, and make payment. These companies can be found by searching for ‘wedding website’ in any search engine. Look for a wedding template host that provides some of the newer features, such as an online planner and photo uploads. If you are opting to only provide photos of your wedding online without a full website, choose image hosting. These packages are a great alternative and are a smaller, cheaper way to allow you to post your beautiful pictures on the Internet for all to see for years to come.

UK Government Unveils New Bailout Idea, Will This Save Britains Financial Situation

    Friday, March 20th, 2009

The UK government has publically announced very last rescue plan to facilitate the economy, and to increase confidence in the market. The new financial bailout includes an insurance cover to cover the financial system from another a new banking crisis. The UK banks will have to pay for the insurance policy, in cash. However all that means the cost of life will plunge, deflation increases saving and may slow down Great Britain’s financial situation. Trading Currencies can be a great way to earn extra cash – talk to Foreign Currency Direct.

House prices are supposed to fall drastically last year, and the market leader, Halifax, reporting a 16 percent annual decline in the 3 months to December 2008. Prices have already gone down 0.2 since their 2007 peak and further declines are possible as consents for home loans are very low, according to bank data.

The number of job seekers surged up to 1 million in at the end of 2008, climbing at a fast rate since the recession of the early 1990s. The credit crunch has led to thousands of occupations losses in different markets, and forecasts of 3m unemployed by the end of 2010. Some stores went out of business last year. Stores have been cutting prices to cover last year bills.

The monetary policy solutions of Gordon Browns government are mainly concentrated on fixing the country but not the sterling. This means the pound will most likely continue to suffer. We will see the sterling going up but forecasts for the British currency is not very rosy.

A recent poll amongst financial analysts confirmed that most probably the CBE will slice interest rates to 1.25 percent from the current 2 points, taking the central bank interest rate to the lowest since the seventeen century.

This means a lower return for the investors who then invest in other currencies, thus causing a decline in the value of Sterling.

Some policymakers have announced the bank will eventually have to cut interest rates to 0 and resort to quantitative easing, basically producing more money to buoy the recession. This appears to go well with the governments policy of spending their way out of the credit crunch problem, the exact opposite of majority of European countries approach, which is a possible cause for the massive fall in Sterling against to the and United States Dollar.

    You’re Making Me Nervous

    Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Almost everybody is nervous when they stand up to speak. There’s no shame in being nervous. However, if you are too nervous, your anxiety will spread to your audience, making them nervous in turn.

So how can you stop yourself from feeling too nervous? Here are a few tips.

    1. Don’t get hung up about being nervous. It’s a normal human reaction. Don’t make yourself more nervous because you’re nervous.

    2. Walk off your excessive nervousness. If possible, walk outside and get some fresh air at the same time. But a walk down the corridor is better than no walk.

    3. Don’t let your legs go to sleep. Keep the blood supply moving. Keep both feet on the floor and lean forward. Wiggle your toes. If you can stand up without disturbing anybody, do so.

    4. Work your wrists, arms and shoulders to get the tension out of them. Gentle movements, not a major workout, will remove that tension.

    5. Work your jaw. Gentle side-to-side or circular motion will help to loosen it.

    6. Repeat positive affirmations quietly to yourself. “I am a good presenter.” It may seem corny but it works.

    7. Above all, breathe deeply. Make sure your stomach is going out when you breathe in.

Don’t be self-conscious about these warm-up activities. Most good speakers do them. Most people won’t even notice that you are doing them. They’re here to hear you speak, they’re not interested in what you do when you are not in the limelight.
