Naveen Jain’s Rise to Success
Naveen Jain is a successful business entrepreneur known for two large Washington-based companies he co-founded. His first founded InfoSpace, a metasearch technology provider, in 1996 and later, in 2003, Intelius Inc., an information-based business firm.
Washington is where Naveen Jain, a former Forbes 400 member, has settled, specifically in Bellevue. His wife, Anu Jain, has also played her role in Jain’s companies as the community relations departments’ vice president. They currently have three children. Jain started out in his native country, India, residing with his civil engineer father. Later in the 1970s, he was allowed a business exchange scholarship and started his career in New Jersey.
When he put up InfoSpace, it came at the right time as the dot-com stock began to develop. Even Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, found the company’s stock performances attractive. Indeed, Naveen Jain’s startup became so success that there came a point when InfoSpace was worth $31 billion and Jain worth $2.2 billion. Various companies of repute availed of the directory and web content solutions by InfoSpace. These included Lycos, America Online and Microsoft Network.
Prior to Intelius and InfoSpace, Naveen Jain, a former Microsoft employee, served as one of the team members who worked on Windows ‘95, MS-DOS and Windows NT. Later on, the company appointed him as the manager of Microsoft Network web-based service.
Recently, he is Intellius Inc.’s chief executive officer. Though Intelius is enjoying success and attention from various IT groups, Naveen Jain takes care to give back to the countries that presented him with so much opportunity. A portion of what he has earned from the company goes to various charities in Washington as well as in India. These aid groups mainly support the youth and education.
