My Australian Visit

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Touring Australia, traveling from Sydney to Melbourne along the coast line was one the nicest experiences I have gone through. There was gorgeous scenery, heaps of things to do and friendly Australian people.

There are plenty of car rental Sydney and car rental Melbourne choices and that’s definitely the handiest way to experience the coast. Car rental companies are more than happy to help you arrange the tour of your dreams. I found a great deal travelling from Sydney to Melbourne just by doing a quick search online.

I began my journey by heading south from Sydney through the Royal National Park. The Grand Pacific Drive is exciting. I spent a few hours in Wollongong and thoroughly loved exploring the many coastal villages along the way before spending the night at Jervis Bay.

The next daybreak I hopped on a cruise to see the resident dolphin population that Jervis Bay is best-known for. I fell in love with the beaches and had a hard time deciding whether to stay or go. Continuing my journey further south, I was able to buy some authentic craft items in Tilba Tilba.

I stopped at Mimosa Rocks National Park and swam in the lagoon before stopping at Tathra Beach to watch some surfers and enjoy the beach. That evening I spent the night in the stylish village of Metung and had a fantastic seafood platter in one of the lakeside restaurants.

Wilsons Promontory National Park is home to amazing scenery and an abundance of wildlife such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats. I spent an entire day hiking through eucalypt forests, exploring beaches and coves and climbing on granite mountains.

Next stop was Fish Creek, a small, quirky and thriving township with arts and crafts, books and cafes. I took the bridge over to Phillip Island, a popular family stop. At Nobbies Centre you can watch the penquins strutting up and down the beach and see one of Australia’s largest fur seal colonies.

I ended my trip in Melbourne making my last stop at the working heritage farm on Churchill Island. Hiring a car gave me the flexibility and convenience during my trip from Sydney to Melbourne. Next time I may get a car rental in Melbourne and do this trip the other direction!

After decorating sky lanterns you may either display them or dry them (if wet), then release them on birthday party or any other social function, the youngsters will love them because its them who decorated them and they know they did a great job doing so.Kids are forever proud to present their masterpieces to friends and family and they will love to look at them acsent in the sky with all their supporters. thats different means how to spend a magical time with family or admirers

To Get the Best out of Horseback Riding Lessons You Need to Be Fit

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

You can profit much better from horseback riding lessons if your body is in top shape and your muscles will allow you to perform at the top of your ability. Granted actually spending time in the saddle is the most appropriate exercise, but you can strengthen your body and lose unwanted weight by many exercises like jogging, bike riding, tennis or even just walking. Weight lifting and calisthenics can be very helpful too. Weight is a critical factor when you are in the saddle. Jockeys struggle over every extra ounce and a pound more or less can easily make the difference in a close race. Extra weight is a safety issue as well since overweight riders lose some control of muscle performance when the same muscles have to move more fat. Remember too that your horse can perform better with less weight to carry and is less likely to stumble or fall if he has a lighter load.

The heavier a rider is the more likely the horse is to get a sore back. Of course weight is not the only issue here because a heavy rider who carries his weight well with most of it in the stirrups is much less likely to sore a horse’s back than a lighter rider who thumps around in the saddle like a lifeless sack of potatoes.

The Ride

Monday, August 10th, 2009

What an extraordinary summer it has been. We went on a magnificent mountain bike ride through the Sequoia National Park. It was an grand trip, but began with the dragging drive. I had my bike on the back of the car and gear all packed up the night before. I started the bike ride up alone as I left early from the office. I was on a race against time as I was supposed to meet my buddies at the top of the mountain road, marked by a picnic table, at eight pm. I knew my window of opportunity was about thirty minutes. If I didnt make it in time, they would come back the next day to find me. This means if I was too late, I would end up sleeping in my car alone that night.

Turns out I made it through traffic and up the hill in time to unhook my bike, crack open a beer and mtn bike ride up and down a couple of little hills before dark and before my buddies would arrive. The fresh air was brilliant and it was nice to be away the city. The bike was in perfect shape and ready to hit some trails. The crew arrived to pick me up and show me where our spot was.

Our bike ride started early and we were ready with big packs stuffed with plenty of food and water. The first hill was killer and was a rude awakening to a very long bike ride. We pedaled over 10 miles uphill, that took over 2hrs. It was a grand feeling to finally make it to the top. We took a break and sipped some water from our stainless steel water bottles.

The rest of the day was spent busting tricks, hitting logs and enticing each other to go big. A couple of breaks were in order throughout the day where we drank a bit of booze and shared treats we had packed away. The dirt was just right. Not too dry as to cause any dust and not too wet that our wheels would get stuck. There was a bit of ice still left on the ground from the spring melt. The temperature was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.
